From the Teams:
This week, we’ve gone ahead and asked the top teams in each region the following questions:
- How are you feeling as a team after your week nine match/matches?
- What is one piece of advice you would give to someone just starting Breachers/Breachers VRML?
EU:
AESIR EU- Ryze: “As a team we’re still feeling confident. [It] was a bit of a shaky match against Sunset Ravens, but we still remain undefeated [even] after nine weeks of matches. I believe we’ve now solidified our spot at number one, which is fantastic. We’ll be using these next few matches to build our confidence for the post season. I still remember being a new player myself, and the piece of advice I’d give is that audio is everything. Don’t give away too much yourself, and try to listen as much as possible to enemies making noise. It can be the difference between winning and losing a whole game.”
SunsetRavens- JediMilo: “We’re feeling pretty alright this week. We did end up losing, but we took a map from AESIR, which is pretty hard to do, so we’re hoping that we can take more than a map next time we play. Advice for someone just starting is [to not] get caught up thinking about ranks and stuff in your first season. Play it [to] gain knowledge, experience, and improve your [overall] skill. That’ll end with you being a higher level in the long run as opposed to only trying to get on high level teams from the start.”
Formula 3 EU- Joshey: “F3 EU had a strong week nine after defeating our opponents in 2 maps. As a team, we are noticing and fixing all our little mistakes along with making new strategies ensuring we are ready for whatever is thrown at us during future VRML matches. For someone just starting VRML, I have one simple piece of advice- enjoy it. If you play to win every game, the game gets boring very quickly. Join a team with players you enjoy playing with, and if you win games- great; but remember: It’s also important to enjoy what you do.”
APAC:
¥oung Mafia- MARSH: “I'm very happy that we were able to play a team-like game. [We’re] keeping up the good work and we'll get our long-awaited finalist Vezin! At first, you’ll probably want to quit because you keep losing, but I hope you won’t give up and [you’ll] keep trying. I [also] want you to enjoy your efforts. Winning is important, but having fun is what’s most important. To have fun, [though], you have to win. (Teams that get it right the first time, please take it easy on us when you fight us)!”
Meta Changes Continued -Opinion by Gibular_Bob
I wanted to quickly take some time today to talk about the other meta change I want to see in Breachers: Changes to the Vezin. I know this is far more controversial than wanting to see changes to the SMGs, but I think it’s time to change up the rifle meta we’ve seen since the game’s release.
At a competitive level, we never see the Cadillo (unless your team is WarDogs), Auril (unless your team is WarDogs), and Marui. Since the Vezin has a faster fire rate, and the maps are often medium to close range, the Vezin has been the undisputed go-to pick whenever you have the money for it. Usually, the economy sees you hop from a pistol immediately to a Vezin (when you can afford it).
Personally, I think the competitive scene could benefit from a Vezin price increase. If rifles were just a bit more expensive, it could really encourage the use of other weapons while you save for a rifle. Of course, prices for other guns may need to be adjusted to account for such a change, but I’d love to see the Auril or Marui have more of a place in the meta than they do now.
Wrapping up Week Nine:
Where has the time gone? Looks like we’ll have to wrap up for this week, but don’t worry- week ten is sure to be full of incredible action and surprises, especially with the Thanksgiving break and roster lock coming up. Keep checking in to hear the latest in Breachers VRML news! Until next time, remember to buy breaching foam, and we’ll see you next week!
