The Empire of Napoleon

Napoleon Bonaparte created the French Empire in 1804 when he crowned himself Emperor of France. His empire expanded rapidly through a series of military victories across Europe. At its height, it controlled or influenced much of continental Europe, including Italy, parts of Germany, Spain, and Poland.

Napoleon introduced important reforms, such as the Napoleonic Code, which established equality before the law and influenced legal systems in many countries.
